So of course, that’s where the wedding and reception was held on June 18, 2011.

For years they have both been telling me that I was their favorite DJ. They have done hundreds of weddings so I’m flattered to say the least!
At their staff holiday party in 2009 (for which I was the DJ) Chris came to me in secret and said he needed a distraction so he could stage his proposal that night! I was glad to help, and he sprung the question! A year and a half later I had the honor of being the entertainer for their big day.

I must say I felt like a family member that night… not a vendor.

On June 11, 2011 Kelly and Randy were married at Casa Marina in style. Sterling Joyce the banquet manager and local icon just made the whole event move seamlessly. Bradford and Melanie Watson of La Dolce Vita Photography were such a joy to work with as well. Kelly told me her vision for the wedding was, “Marie Antoinette meets Country Sheik.”
With her amazing dress and her veil flowing in the on-shore breeze during the ceremony, it was picture perfect to her dream. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, so the guests were eager to stay outside for dancing until the very end of the reception.

You never know if the kids are going to be a fun “dance” crowd or one that just likes to listen to the music. Sometimes the party is
all about the adults, but last night (April 10, 2011) it was just the perfect mix. I got started in this business about six years ago just after my very own Bar  Mitzvah and I have done well over a hundered parties, some with a great crew
and a great crowd, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Last night I got very lucky, I arrived at PRI Productions for a party I had been looking forward to for months now, I have known not only the immediate family, but the extended family as well, for many years and I know how much they love a good party. Unfortunately I didn’t know any of the kids, except the Bar Mitzvah boy, which can sometimes be very intimidating, but lucky for me it
was a rocking crowd. From the time they walked in, to the introduction, past the horah, and straight out the doors everyone was dancing, the  parents, the adults, the kids, the whole time. The entire night my dancers,
Chelsea and Rachel, were looking at me giving me the “wow this is awesome” look, it was just that perfect mix. Like I said earlier, I have done over a hundred events and been to over hundred more. You would think that they
would all blend together and become the same thing over and over again, but when you love what you do as much as I do, each one is special, but I can guarantee that this party will stand out as one of the best parties I have
ever done and will ever do. On behalf of myself, Rachel, Chelsea, and D’Land Entertainment, I would like to congratulate the Lantinburg family on this huge event and thank them for letting us be a part of this very special day.

That’s no secret. But sometimes I get even closer than I usually do; sometimes I get to feel like I’m part of a family like the Dudley family.

I first met Megan 10 years ago at her older sister Danette’s wedding. Megan was affectionately known as the troublemaker. This 15 year old lived up to her reputation and every time I gave her a hard time, she was able to throw it back at me. I loved our verbal banter as much as I loved her family. The Dudley family never made me feel less than one of their own and I grew to look forward to the phone calls as the family weddings kept coming. Through each of her sibling’s weddings, the troublemaker and I always picked up right where we left off. I would kid her about her wedding (Which would NEVER happen, according to her) and she would give me a hard time about anything and everything. I knew it would happen eventually and late last year, I got the call.

Sunday, March 20, 2011 was probably as special to me as it was to the rest of her family. To the Dudley family, I say thank you for letting me be a part of your celebrations for the last decade. To John, I say you hit the jackpot. It takes a special prince to sweep a princess off her feet and in the short time I’ve known you, I know you are that man. And to Megan, you’ll always be my little troublemaker. I wish you happiness. You are one I will never forget.

To be a part of one of the most special days in someones life is an honor. I will have to admit, when it involves someone in your family, everything goes up a notch! My niece, Victoria, married Nick Moon on Saturday March 19, 2011. I have known Victoria since she was a little girl living in Minnesota. The ceremony was at First Christian Church of the Beaches in Neptune Beach, Fl. The reception was held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville Fl. It was great working with Chad and Krissy Weeks with Ivey Pictures. They captured some great shots! This was a first for me because my wife, Trisha and I were in the ceremony as sponsors! I was feeling kind of lonely this weekend (February 17 – 20). D’Land Entertainment was empty of DJs… Ok; it’s not really that bad. We were proud to be handling a lot of the entertainment for the VIP and corporate tents at the legendary Daytona 500! It’s an honor to have an event of that magnitude use us for their entertainment needs.

While I’m at it, think about how lucky we all are to have such an assortment of big events here in Northeast Florida. We have TPC, ATP, NFL, NASCAR, , AFL, Gatorbowl, and Florida/Georgia just to name a few. It’s too easy to take those things for granted. Gotta Love North Florida.
